This is a major win for property tax payers who have for too long taken up the funding slack that the state legislature foisted upon its citizens.

Greenland Remembers Ona Marie Judge Staines

The Portsmouth Black Heritage Trail and the Greenland, NH Historical Society joined to honor the legacy of Ona Marie Judge Staines a slave owned by George and Martha Washington who heroically escaped her owners and settled in Greenland, NH where she died in 1848. The accompanying text was delivered in a speech by Dennis Malloy to the NH House of Representatives and placed in the permanent Journal on May 1, 2025.
