Amending the Constitution is a Big Deal

For nearly 250 years NH has not had a state-wide income tax and I’m not about to vote for one. Thursday May 16, the House defeated a bill that would amend the constitution restricting this and future legislatures from adopting a state wide income tax of any kind. Income tax proposals have been consistently defeated since the founding of this state, but this time there were those who wanted to codify the income tax question in the constitution, a measure that would better be defined by law. This is my speech making that case.

Game-Changing Win for Public Education

July 3, 2025

After decades of inadequate funding for public education in New Hampshire, the state Supreme Court has told the state legislature to step up and do its job as outlined in the NH Constitution. This is a major win for property tax payers who have for too long taken up the funding slack that the state legislature foisted upon its citizens.
